The most straight forward way to use SFTP is through the command line. This topic covers common commands and ways to use SFTP on a SmartMachine.

If you are uncomfortable with working from a command line, you can alternately use an FTP client that supports SFTP. For example, CuteFTP or Transmit.

Logging into your Account

You need to start by logging into your account with the sftp command. You log into your SFTP account the same way you log into your SmartMachine:

Run this command specifying a valid user and server name:

When prompted, enter your password. Once logged in, you will see an SFTP prompt:
