Ordering SSL

To order one of the SSL options (except for Shared SSL, which now is a self-serve feature in Virtualmin), please open a support ticket. Use the How Can We Help area to provide us with the following information:

  • Which of the SSL options you are interested in;
  • Which domain/hostname you want to protect (e.g. with a standard certificate, make the decision whether to protect domain.com or www.domain.com etc.). Please double-check this and be specific, as this cannot be changed once the certificate is ordered.
  • Contact information:
    • Site holder name (person or company);
    • State and country (will only be used for ordering and not published);
    • Contact name (if different from the holder name);
    • Contact email (for certificate renewal notifications);
    • Contact phone number (for GeoTrust);
  • You need to be able to receive mail at ssladmin@yourdomain.com (replace 'yourdomain.com' as appropriate). An approval request will go out to this email address with a link that you need to click on, to let us proceed with the order. This is only needed for the purchase and for a renewal in the future.

For Customer provided SSL only:

  • Please upload the certificate and key files on your account and let us know where you have put them. Note that the key file must not be protected with a passphrase.

Either way, please make it clear for us that you've read these instructions and that you agree to the charges involved. Also note that since these are billable items, we'd only grant such requests coming from either the account owner, or a contact previously approved by the account owner.
