Changing your billing information

If you would like to change your account billing information, such as your credit card number, please please open a support ticket, and we will provide a link to a secure page where you can enter the new information.

NEVER send your credit card number either through email or in the request form. Neither email nor the help request is encrypted. Your billing information could be intercepted by a third party.

Changing your Shared Hosting email address

If you'd like to change your email address from the one you originally signed up with, you'll need to change in two different places:

  • Your billing information
  • Your account under Virtualmin

Resending the Welcome email

The welcome email for your Joyent Shared SmartMachines account contains important login information and links to all the services you might use on the server. If you lose this email, you can resend it to yourself any time from within Virtualmin.

Adding a technical contact

You may name a person to act as a technical contact for your account.

The technical contact is the person responsible for maintaining the configuration and deployment aspects of an account. This individual would be authorized to submit support requests on your behalf.

If you wish to add (or replace) a technical contact to your account, please open a support ticket.

Be sure to include:

  • The first and last name of the technical contact
  • The email address they will use to submit support requests

Only one technical contact can be named per account.

Upgrading or downgrading your account

If you would like to change your account to a different plan, please open a support ticket. Let us know what changes you'd like to make.

Canceling your account

If you want to cancel your account, please open a support ticket.

Be sure to include:

  • Your full name
  • Your email address
  • Your user name
  • The name of your server, for example ross.
  • A message saying "I'd like to cancel my account, please."

Click Submit Request to submit your cancellation request.

Changing your account user name

It is not possible to change your account user name under any circumstances.
