Concurrent Versions System (CVS) Overview
CVS is a centralized, client-server revision control system. It was previously a de-facto standard for many organizations, but because of various limitations, it is now losing grown to Subversion and other revision control systems.
You may still want or need to use CVS. If you are on a Facebook Accelerator, or have chosen to use pkgsrc on a full Accelerator, CVS will be a dependency for you, as it was pkgsrc was developed on top of CVS.
