Change Server Message After Login

As much as we all love the “Joyent Accelerators” message we receive after logging in, you can customize this message for your own server. All messages that are displayed after login are kept in the motd (message of the day) file.

1. SSH into your machine
   1. ssh admin@1.2.3.4
2. Change to root
   1. sudo su
   2. Enter the password for your admin user when prompted
3. Edit the motd file
   1. vi /etc/motd
   2. Enter any text you like and then save and close the file.
4. Login to the machine again and you will be presented with the updated message.
